15th International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction
Awards of Appreciation conferred on EDMRC-affiliated Aapda Mitra volunteers (Nitika and Sh. Narender Kumar) at the HPSDMA Samarth 2025 ceremony, 13 October 2025 — the state's annual recognition of frontline disaster-management contribution.
D-IAG Kangra co-leadership
EDMRC co-leads the District Inter-Agency Group (D-IAG) Kangra in support of DDMA Kangra — the institutional convergence platform bringing together district administration, NGOs, civil society organisations and community institutions around shared disaster preparedness and response goals.
On International Volunteer Day (5 December 2025), D-IAG Kangra launched "2026 — A Year of Volunteer Action for Resilient Kangra" at the Kangra Valley Karnival / Dharamshala Marathon 2025. The year-long campaign positions volunteer action as the connective tissue of district-scale resilience, with EDMRC serving as institutional anchor and Aapda Mitra Kendra coordinator.
DDMA Kangra — operational collaboration
EDMRC operates as a standing technical and training partner of the District Disaster Management Authority Kangra. Active collaborations include the Training of Masons, Carpenters & Bar-Binders on Hazard-Resistant Construction (HimNIRMANAC delivery framework), AapdaPAR foundation training across all panchayats of Kangra District, and the D-IAG Kangra inter-agency platform.
